Paul HARRIS

Paul Harris is going from strength to strength - the Grammy Award winning artist has spent 2006 returning to his writing / production roots to develop them even further, with phenomenal results that should make 2007 his most successful year yet. Following his brave decision in 2005 to leave the band Dirty Vegas, Harris has spent the past year working with an eclectic mixture of people under various guises, combining his insatiable knowledge of what works on the dance floor and taking it into the studio to produce killer tracks that have received rave reviews. His most successful venture from 06 was undoubtedly Atrium with the track ‘In Love With You’, championed all summer by Pete Tong (both at Pacha and on Radio 1) and Tom Novy on the Space Terrace – it actually become one of the vocal anthems of 06 and was also an ‘Essential New Tune’. The track is forthcoming March 07 on Positiva records.  Working with Richard ‘Biff’ Stanard, Harris has been writing and producing for a number of major artists, first fruits of which will be unveiled spring 07 – watch this space as it’s a very exciting project.  Hydrogen Rockers also returned to the charts with ‘Turn Away’ on CR2 to critical acclaim, 07 will see further releases from both of these partnerships.  Superbass (with Jay P) has transformed from an occasional singles based project to an album project, and their collaboration is evolving into a superb production/songwriting team! The album is scheduled for release Summer 07, on Toolroom Records, and is laden with big vocal cuts that will not disappoint.  Harris’ own track ‘Find Yourself A Friend’, has had a re-jig and is sure to be a big record come WMC 07, as will the results of the partnership with Jay P and Pete Tong with ‘The Factory – Couldn’t Love You More’ set for release in March, also on Toolroom. Harris has also returned to his Fashionista forte and has created the music for numerous catwalk shows for fashion week, with various shows lined up for Fashion Week Feb 07 including Julien McDonald and Amanda Wakeley, plus various London gigs at Kabaret , Movida , ChinaWhite and Paper, and premieres and fashion events galore! DJ wise, Harris is also excelling – with global highlights of 06 being Mint in Buenos Aries, various trips to Brazil, Tribehouse in Germany and The Finger Party in Cannes. Harris also had his first solo Essential Mix broadcasted toward the end of 06 to rave reviews, and regularly has guest mixes aired all around the world – something which is set to continue into 2007. The diary for 07 is already getting full for the first half of the year, with two new bands penciled in for writing and production work. His DJ schedule is packed with bookings at the best clubs and parties in the world – and more visits to Oz, Asia, Mexico, USA, Europe and London – it looks like another busy year for the ex City Trader.

Sam OBERNIK

SAM OBERNIK's quite good, if a bit tricky. Not one for staying where she's put... From busking her way through her teenage years around Dublin and Ireland, to blagging her way across the States with a guitar, a cattle prod and a song called "i've got nine and a half lives" (nearly true/...not any more)... Landed in London to record and  tour with TERRY HALL of The Specials- got wed had a baby- grew up fell back down again- furiously writing songs- had a band then didnt- got un-wedded- played guitar for Britney Spears- wrote more songs- got another band. Whilst working on her first solo album, Sam met TIM DELUXE and they recorded "IT JUST WONT DO"... which did rather well... After a couple more Dance biggies, Sam had an album idea she called BAREFOOT- inspired by performing "it just wont do" on JO WHILEY's live lounge. A new album was born, covering big ol' club tunes, from Born Slippy to Ebeneezer Goode, all brass and strings, sprinkled with Jazz, Soul, Country and lashings of Love. PETE TONG put Barefoot's White Lines on his film soundtrack ITS ALL GONE PETE TONG... Time Out called it "...Like Moloko doing Acid House in Berlin 1930's... A woman possessed, Obernik turns these tunes into fare fit for a smoky dive of a club... and that's a good thing"... www.myspace.com/barefootUK  Most recently Sam's been on tour with BRYAN FERRY, in the studio writing lots and with many- including a new album with Tim Deluxe... top-line on Alex Gaudino's current single "Watch Out", and a mildly amusing array of other projects from film soundtracks to American urban tewns... Right now Sam is of course all about the BADITUDE avec DAVE SPOON and PAUL HARRIS... with more tracks in progress and an amazing BAREFOOT version of Baditude- check www.myspace.com/obernik
