Johnny
Gleeson burst onto the international scene in 2004 with the underground
hit with Carl Kennedy “Banta Boom” on Toolroom records. His next
track “Right Before my Eyes” under “Southside Hustlers” made it
into the Top 100 Tracks for 2005 (Traxsource).
He
has since secured a residency at PACHA (Ibiza) and DEFECTED (Tank,
Sydney)
and
has recently signed endorsements with Allen & Heath, Audio
Technica, Ableton Live and Police.
Johnny
is one of Sydney 's hottest DJ's with a huge following in his
home town and a reputation for his unforgettable sets, influential
sound and trademark cutting edge style.
Affectionately
known as “The Godfather” by some of the younger local jocks. Johnny
has firmly cemented his place in house music history in Australia,
having held residencies at every major club in Sydney over the
last decade and has earned a reputation as a solid performer throughout
Australia and Asia.
In
2005, Johnny released three tracks with Carl Kennedy, two of which
were featured in Pete Tong's “Essential Selection” for seven weeks
combined and the other in his Pete's infamous Buzz Chart. Johnny's
first solo release “Electric Pillowcase” on the new Pacha label
was released in February 2006 creating a huge buzz.
With
exciting material released before Miami 2006, some of which was
featured at the opening of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne
this year, it is no wonder that artists such as Bini and Martini,
Paolo Mojo, Robbie Rivera, Mark Knight and Martijn Ten Velden,
Dave Spoon, Alexander Koning and Scumfrog have all offered their
remixing skills to his material this year.
Definitely
one to watch in 2006, Johnny Gleeson looks very well set indeed
for another exciting year in the international arena and will
no doubt deliver…
